Golden Star Balm, known in Vietnam as Cao Sao Vang, is made by Pharmaceutical TW3 from a formula first created in 1961 and in mass production since 1969. The small red tin with the gold star is one of the most recognised household items in Vietnam: a firm aromatic balm in a screw-top metal tin, with nothing to pour and nothing to spill.

Highlights

  • Plant essential oils: eucalyptus, peppermint and cajuput essential oils give the bright green aroma, while menthol and camphor bring the cool-then-warm feel the tin is known for.
  • Massage balm: warm a small dab between your fingers and massage into shoulders, the back of the neck, lower back, wrists, hands or feet after a workout, a long drive or a day at a desk.
  • Firm balm, travel friendly: softens on the fingertip and rubs in without leaving an oily film.
  • Eight pocket 4 g tins: eight 4 g (0.14 oz) screw-top tins, 32 g (1.13 oz) of balm in all. Each tin is about 2.5 cm across and flat enough to slip into a wallet, pocket, purse, gym bag or glove compartment.

Ingredients

Camphor, menthol, peppermint oil, cajuput oil, cinnamon oil and clove basil oil, in a base of beeswax, petrolatum, paraffin, lanolin and paraffin oil.

Directions

For external use only. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and massage gently onto the skin of the shoulders, neck, back, wrists, hands or feet. Can be used on its own or worked over a carrier oil as part of a massage. Wash hands after use.

Storage

Store in a cool place away from heat, with the lid tightly closed. Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Where we ship

We ship to addresses in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, including APO/FPO/DPO military addresses and P.O. boxes. We do not currently ship outside the United States.

The shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays. Total delivery time is typically 4–9 business days from the date your order is placed.

Order processing

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days after payment is confirmed. Orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed on the next business day. During high-volume periods processing may take longer; we will email you if your order is delayed.

Order tracking

When your order ships, we send a shipping confirmation email with the carrier name and tracking number. You can also check your order status at any time on our Track Order page.

Sales tax

Applicable state and local sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.

Incorrect address

Please make sure your shipping address is complete and correct. If you notice a mistake, email us as soon as possible at [email protected]. We can update the address only before the order ships. Packages returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address can be reshipped after you pay the shipping cost again.

Lost, delayed or damaged packages

If your tracking shows no movement for 7 business days, your package is marked delivered but you did not receive it, or your order arrives damaged, contact us within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Include your order number and, for damaged items, photos of the package and products. We will work with the carrier and send a replacement or issue a refund as described in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Carriers

Orders ship with major U.S. carriers such as USPS, UPS or FedEx. The carrier is selected based on the destination and package size. A signature is not normally required.

Shipping restrictions

We currently ship only to U.S. addresses. We are not able to ship to international addresses or to freight-forwarding services that re-export packages outside the United States.

Weather and holidays

Carrier delays caused by severe weather, peak holiday periods or other events outside our control may extend delivery times. We will help track any delayed package.
